Years ago I began building a very broad range of skills studying first in engineering then moving over to earn my BFA in graphic design. It soon became apparent that my home was going to be in the computer lab. To this day I still spend a good amount of time learning and exploring. I’m an artist and a craftsman, digital and otherwise. It’s a part of the core personality.
31 movies and 12 games. I’ve worked with for some of the most prominent game and film studios. Over 10 years with Sony alone. I’ve worked as a generalist but then also specialised in lighting and rendering. After years of working my way up, I’ve lead teams and built departments from the ground up more than once. I hope to focus my efforts and be part of a good team. I feel most useful helping others while contributing to the body of creative work.
These days my anchor point is a nice small house on a couple acres up in the mountains on the outskirts of Asheville. It’s close to my family after all these years out and about. It’s pleasantly away from many of the distractions of larger cities while still close to a good airport. I continue my work on the computer in my office here, my study of traditional Japanese archery, my work in the shop and outside in the woods. I hope to continue moving out into the world to feed those nomadic tendancies. I want to continue collaborating with the many talented folks scattered around the world. At the end of the day I just want to make cool stuff. If I can be of assistance I hope you’ll reach out through my LinkedIn profile here.
